Amid the political divide between the North and South, former federal lawmaker and social media commentator, Senator Shehu Sani, has identified four key events that unite Nigerians regardless of their differences.

In a post on his official Facebook page on Saturday, Sani highlighted these unifying factors that transcend Nigeria's ethnic, religious, and political boundaries.

"Four things that unite Nigerians: Super Eagles, when they are winning; South Africans, when they launch xenophobic attacks against Nigerians; our artists, when they win Grammys; and Kemi Badenoch, when she attacks," Sani wrote.

The observation comes at a time when Nigeria continues to grapple with various divisive issues along regional lines. Sani's commentary suggests that despite these divisions, certain events still have the power to rally Nigerians under a common identity.

The Super Eagles, Nigeria's national football team, has historically been a source of national pride, with their victories often celebrated across all regions of the country. Similarly, external challenges such as xenophobic attacks against Nigerians in South Africa have typically prompted unified responses from Nigerians of all backgrounds.

Nigerian artists achieving international recognition, particularly Grammy Awards, also serve as moments of collective national pride. The fourth factor mentioned by Sani refers to Kemi Badenoch, a British politician of Nigerian descent, whose comments about Nigeria have previously sparked unified responses from Nigerians.

Sani, who represented Kaduna Central in the 8th Senate, has remained an active voice on national issues through his social media platforms, often providing commentary on political and social matters affecting the country.
