Senator Olubiyi Fadeyi-Ajagunla, representing Osun Central Senatorial District, has officially resigned from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), marking another significant departure from the party in Osun State.

The resignation comes shortly after Senator Francis Adenigba Fadahunsi, who represents Osun East Senatorial District in the National Assembly, also left the party citing similar concerns about irreconcilable differences with the party's leadership.

According to information gathered by BenriNews, Fadeyi-Ajagunla's resignation was formalized in a personally signed letter dated June 12, 2025, which he submitted to the PDP chairman of Ward 3, Oke-Ejigbo, Ila-Orangun.

In his resignation letter, the senator wrote: "I wish to formally notify you that I am resigning my Membership of the People's Democratic Party (PDP) with immediate effect."

He further explained his decision, stating: "Irreconcilable difference and irreparable division that have emerged and court cases and counter court cases in the last 3 years which has Created faction in the party at the National level."

The senator noted that his decision came "after consultation and engagement with my political associates, family and friends," and thanked the party for accepting his resignation.

These high-profile exits raise questions about the stability of the PDP in Osun State ahead of future elections, as the party continues to grapple with internal conflicts at both state and national levels.

While Senator Fadeyi-Ajagunla has not yet announced which political platform he intends to join, his departure represents a significant shift in the political landscape of Osun State.
