The National Publicity Secretary of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Felix Morka, has launched a scathing criticism against former Vice President Atiku Abubakar following his resignation from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Atiku announced his departure from the PDP on Wednesday, citing concerns over the party's current trajectory as the reason behind his decision. This marks his third exit from the party.

In a swift reaction posted on X (formerly Twitter), Morka described Atiku as being "driven only by his selfish and obsessive presidential ambition" and criticized him for not being willing to commit to building his party or resolving its internal crises.

"Yet again, Atiku uses his revolving door out of the PDP, for the third time all in his desperate but ever elusive search for the presidential Golden Fleece," Morka stated.

The APC spokesman further described the former Vice President as "indisputably, the weakest link in Nigeria's partisan democracy" who "claims a birthright entitlement to presidential ticket of his party to the exclusion of all others."

Morka concluded his statement by referring to Atiku as "Nigeria's incomparable political wanderer," highlighting the former Vice President's history of moving between political parties.

Meanwhile, the Adamawa State chapter of the PDP has reportedly scoffed at Atiku's resignation, while Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde has stated that Atiku's exit will not affect the party.

This development comes as political realignments continue ahead of future electoral contests, with the Delta Central APC recently reaffirming its commitment to Governor Sheriff Oborevwori as its sole candidate for the 2027 governorship election.
