Spending, a close friend of the late Nigerian singer Mohbad, has publicly denied rumors circulating on social media claiming he is the biological father of Mohbad's son, Liam.
The speculation gained significant traction after an online post highlighted an alleged physical resemblance between Spending and Liam, triggering widespread debates about the child's paternity across various social media platforms.
In a statement shared via his Instagram story, Spending firmly dismissed these allegations, calling for an immediate end to what he described as baseless claims. He emphasized that he has never had any romantic involvement with Liam's mother and expressed frustration over the proliferation of false narratives.
"I've been seeing several bloggers insinuating I'm Liam's father. This is not a joke for real!! To set the record straight, I'm not his father and I never had any affectionate relationship with his mother. Y'all need to stop spreading these false narratives," Spending wrote.
In a move that underscores his determination to clear his name, Spending has offered to undergo a DNA test if necessary. "I'm happy to have a DNA test done if required," he added, demonstrating his willingness to provide scientific proof to counter the rumors.
This controversy comes amid ongoing public interest in matters related to the late Mohbad, whose sudden passing shocked the Nigerian music industry. Other recent developments include Mohbad's father recounting his son's final hours in an interview with social media personality VeryDarkMan, and police inviting actress Iyabo Ojo for alleged cyberbullying related to the case.
