Former President Muhammadu Buhari will be laid to rest in his hometown of Daura, Katsina State on Monday, following his passing at a London clinic on Sunday afternoon.

According to reliable sources, Buhari died at approximately 4:30 pm on Sunday while receiving treatment for an undisclosed illness. The news was confirmed by his former media spokesman, Garba Shehu, who made the announcement via his X (formerly Twitter) account.

In response to the former president's passing, President Bola Tinubu has dispatched Vice President Kashim Shettima to London with instructions to accompany Buhari's remains back to Nigeria for the burial ceremony scheduled for Monday.
