Ovation magazine publisher, Dele Momodu, has officially declared his support for the coalition behind the African Democratic Congress (ADC), emphasizing that he has no intention of joining the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

Momodu made this declaration during an appearance on Arise TV's Prime Time program on Wednesday, expressing enthusiasm about the coalition's launch earlier that day.

"I have always been a fan of political parties whether I join them or not," Momodu stated. "In principle, I consider myself as a member of that coalition."

The media mogul clarified recent misconceptions about his political affiliations, saying: "I wrote two weeks ago that my soul has already left PDP and a lot of people misconstrued that to mean I was another one that would join APC. But I will never have business with APC."

Coalition Gaining Momentum

According to Momodu, the coalition has attracted significant interest from opposition politicians who are determined to challenge President Bola Tinubu and the APC in upcoming elections.

"I was surprised to see the people I saw join the coalition; it is out of deep frustration," he remarked. "99.9% of those in the coalition meeting have pledged to join the ADC."

The ADC coalition has been making headlines recently with prominent political figures reportedly joining its ranks. Former Senate President David Mark and former Osun State Governor Rauf Aregbesola are among those who have reportedly received membership cards from the party.

Meanwhile, the Labour Party, through its spokesperson, has rejected talks of joining the ADC coalition, describing its presidential candidate in the 2023 elections, Peter Obi, as a "political scam."

This development comes as Nigeria's political landscape continues to evolve ahead of future elections, with opposition parties seeking to form alliances to challenge the ruling APC.
