A Magistrate Court in Ado-Ekiti has convicted 32 individuals for violating Ekiti State Environmental Health and Sanitation Laws during the routine environmental sanitation exercise conducted on Saturday.
Magistrate Olubunmi Bamidele, who presided over the proceedings, stated that the violators failed to comply with the state's environmental regulations. The magistrate emphasized that these convictions would serve as a deterrent to others considering similar violations.
According to the court ruling, 21 of the convicted persons were given the option to pay fines, while the remaining offenders were sentenced to community service. The court discharged 11 other individuals after reviewing the specifics of their cases.
