The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adeboye, has announced plans to lead a national prayer session focused on Nigeria's economic restoration amid growing hardship across the country.

The prayer initiative, scheduled for the RCCG's July 2025 thanksgiving service, will be held under the theme "Divine Intervention" at the church's national headquarters in Oyingbo, Lagos.

Faith as a Solution to Economic Challenges

Speaking through his Special Assistant on Administration, Pastor Dele Balogun, Adeboye emphasized that the current economic difficulties facing Nigeria and other nations can be overcome through faith and positive action.

"Our nation, Nigeria, as well as other nations of the world, are going through a challenging time. However, the good news is that these challenges are surmountable by faith, if we do not entertain doubt," he stated.

The RCCG leader urged Nigerians to shift from negative confessions to faith-based thinking as a pathway to progress, expressing confidence in divine intervention to reverse the country's economic decline.

Ongoing Prayer Initiative

Pastor Olusegun Macaulay, the Assistant Pastor in Charge of Province 1, RCCG, revealed that a dedicated team is already engaged in continuous prayer for the nation throughout the second half of the year. Their focus includes key areas such as the economy, environment, and national stability.

According to Macaulay, divine opportunities are typically activated by God and benefit those who maintain spiritual connections. The prayer session aims to spark national transformation and create "divine opportunities" for the country.

The announcement comes at a time when many Nigerians are expressing concerns about the worsening economic situation, with inflation and cost of living remaining significant challenges for citizens across the country.
