Popular Nigerian comedian Ekene Clinton Egbuna, widely known as Klintoncod, has launched a scathing attack on Prophet Jeremiah Omoto Fufeyin, founder of Christ Mercyland Deliverance Ministry, accusing him of defrauding his congregation through the sale of fake miracle products.
In a video posted on Instagram, Klintoncod described the clergyman as "a nuisance to Christianity" and suggested that in a properly functioning society, the prophet would be imprisoned or placed in a mental health facility.
Allegations of Fraud and Exploitation
The comedian specifically called out Prophet Fufeyin for allegedly selling sand in sealed packages with his face printed on them, promising buyers that God would help them build houses if they purchased these items.
"This guy calls himself a man of God but I don't think he is. I don't think there is a difference between him and someone who has ended up in jail for fraud," Klintoncod stated in his video.
He added: "This guy goes around selling items, telling people if you buy whatever items he sells God will work miracles for you. Now he went and packaged sand in a nylon, sealed it and put his face on it, now he said if you buy this sand God will help you build a house."
Criticism of Congregation
Klintoncod didn't spare the prophet's followers either, describing them as "a whole bunch of stupid people" who attend his church and address him as "Papa." The comedian suggested that such religious practices are part of why some Nigerians have stopped attending church altogether.
"Tinubu or APC is not our problem, Nigerians are actually very stupid. This guy is part of the reason some people stopped going to church," he remarked.
This is not the first time Prophet Fufeyin has faced public criticism. According to reports, he has previously threatened legal action against critics who made allegations against him.
Neither Prophet Fufeyin nor his ministry has responded to Klintoncod's allegations at the time of this report.
