Veteran Nollywood actress and evangelist Eucharia Anunobi has sparked conversation with her recent admonition to Christians, urging them to abstain from dancing to secular music.
In a video shared on her TikTok page, the actress-turned-pastor claimed that Christians who dance to non-gospel music are essentially "dancing with the devil."
Finding Godly Entertainment
Anunobi encouraged believers to seek entertainment through more spiritually aligned channels, suggesting that Christians who wish to experience nightlife should opt for gospel music instead.
"If you want to club, club with Christ. Stop dancing with the devil," she stated emphatically in her broadcast. "I'm the catalyst here to awaken you to your new reality."
This is not the first time the seasoned actress has made headlines for her strong religious views. Anunobi has previously spoken on various controversial topics since embracing her calling as a minister of the gospel, while maintaining her career in the entertainment industry.
Balancing Faith and Career
Despite her strong religious stance, Anunobi has previously stated that being a pastor does not prevent her from taking on promiscuous roles in movies, highlighting the complex relationship between her faith and profession.
The actress has been open about her personal struggles, including her revelation that her father initially refused to send her to school because "he felt I was useless" – a challenge she overcame to become one of Nollywood's most recognizable faces.
Anunobi's recent statement adds to her growing list of public admonitions on Christian living and moral standards, including previous comments on fundraising after alcohol abuse and the posting of account details on social media.
The actress has also been candid about her personal life, once publicly stating that she was urgently in need of a husband who would be "up to task."
