Former US President Donald Trump has issued a stark warning to Iran, urging the nation to "make peace" or prepare for "greater tragedy" following US military strikes on three Iranian nuclear facilities.

Trump revealed that US forces successfully bombed the Fordow, Natanz, and Esfahan nuclear sites in Iran in what appears to be a significant escalation in Middle East tensions amid the ongoing Israel-Iran conflict.

During his world address following the attacks, Trump described Iran as the "bully of the Middle East" and warned that future military actions against the country would be "much easier" if peace is not pursued.

Decades of Hostility

"For 40 years, Iran has been saying death to America and Israel, they have been killing our people, blowing off their arms and legs with their roadside bombs," Trump stated in his address.

"We lost over a thousand people and hundreds of thousands around the Middle East have died as a result of their hate. I decided a long time ago that I will not let this happen and continue," he added.

The former president also congratulated Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu, claiming they "worked as a team" in what he described as an effort to erase the threat to Israel.

Ultimatum to Tehran

Trump's message concluded with a clear ultimatum: "There will be either peace or tragedy for Iran, greater than we have witnessed over the last eight days."

Meanwhile, Iranian officials have reportedly downplayed the impact of the US strikes, claiming there was "no serious damage" to their nuclear facilities.

The military action comes amid growing concerns about regional stability, with oil prices expected to rise sharply as the United States joins Israel in direct military action against Iran.

Reports also indicate that Trump may face impeachment proceedings over the decision to attack Iran's nuclear sites without congressional approval.
