Iran has issued a stern warning to the United States, threatening a "strong, proportional and appropriate" response if Washington becomes directly involved in Israel's military offensive against the Islamic Republic.

Speaking in Geneva, Iran's ambassador to the United Nations, Ali Bahreini, declared that Tehran views the U.S. as "complicit in what Israel is doing" and would treat any American military involvement as a hostile act.

"We will give the same response to the United States that we give to Israel," Bahreini told reporters. "Our military is ready. We are closely monitoring the level of U.S. involvement and will react whenever it is needed."

US Preparing for Potential Direct Action

While the United States has so far limited its role to defensive support, including intercepting Iranian missiles aimed at Israel, reports indicate that Washington may be preparing for a more direct involvement in the conflict.

According to U.S. officials, President Donald Trump is considering launching strikes on Iranian nuclear and military targets and is deploying additional fighter aircraft to the region. Earlier Tuesday, Trump demanded Iran's "unconditional surrender," further escalating tensions between the two nations.

In response, Bahreini condemned Trump's comments as "unwarranted and very hostile."

"We cannot ignore them," he said. "We are vigilant about what Trump is saying. We will factor his words into our assessments."

Iran Promises Retaliation Against Israeli Strikes

The Iranian envoy also reiterated that Tehran would retaliate against continued Israeli strikes, stating, "We will not show any reluctance in defending our people, security and land, we will respond seriously and strongly, without restraint."

This warning comes amid escalating tensions in the Middle East, with Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khamenei previously vowing "no mercy" for Israeli leaders and declaring that "the battle begins" against Israel.

Israel has defended its military actions, telling the United Nations that its strike on Iran aimed to "neutralize existential threat" from the country's nuclear program.
