Special Counsel to Nnamdi Kanu, Aloy Ejimakor, has strongly condemned the recent wave of terrorist attacks in Imo and Enugu States, describing them as a "coordinated ethnic cleansing" against the Igbo people.

In a statement posted on social media platform X, Ejimakor urged Igbos to take decisive action by combing all forests in the Southeast region to root out the perpetrators of these violent attacks.

"Barely 2 weeks ago, terrorist herdsmen ravaged Imo State & left a trail of blood & anger. Days ago, they struck Enugu & today, and they returned to Imo," Ejimakor wrote. "This is a coordinated ethnic cleansing that Ndigbo must convene together to STOP. All forests in Igboland must be 'combed.'"

Recent Attacks in Southeast Nigeria

Reports indicate that suspected armed herders recently attacked Agwa and other communities in the Oguta local government area of Imo State. The violent incursion resulted in multiple fatalities and numerous injuries, sparking widespread outrage across the region.

The Chairman of Oguta LGA, Ifeanyi Nnani, visited survivors on Tuesday and reportedly condemned the attacks in the strongest possible terms. The incident has prompted calls for urgent action to protect innocent citizens in the affected areas.

These attacks follow similar incidents in Enugu State, establishing what Ejimakor describes as a pattern of violence specifically targeting communities in the Southeast region.

The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), led by Nnamdi Kanu, has long raised concerns about security issues in the Southeast, particularly regarding alleged attacks by armed herders on local communities.

As tensions continue to rise, there are growing calls for both state and federal authorities to implement more effective security measures to protect vulnerable communities in the region.
