The Kaduna State Police Command has apprehended 13 suspects in connection with the killing of a naval officer, Lt. Commodore M. Buba, who was fatally stabbed near the Kawo flyover in Kaduna.

According to a statement released by Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Mansir Hassan, the arrests were made following a raid conducted shortly after the tragic incident. The suspects were reportedly found in possession of dangerous weapons.

Details of the Incident

Lt. Commodore Buba, a senior course student at the Armed Forces Command and Staff College, Jaji, was attacked at approximately 5:20 am on Sunday while changing a flat tyre on his vehicle near the Kawo flyover.

Security analyst Zagazola Makama shared in a Monday post that the assailant approached the officer and demanded his mobile phone. When Lt. Commodore Buba resisted and questioned the demand, he was stabbed in the chest with a local knife.

Reports indicate that bystanders overpowered and lynched the attacker as he attempted to flee the scene. The naval officer was rushed to Manaal Hospital but was pronounced dead on arrival. His remains have since been transferred to the 44 Army Reference Hospital in Kaduna.

Police Investigation Continues

The police raid that led to the arrests was conducted in the Kawo area immediately following the incident. Authorities continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the officer's death as the suspects remain in custody.

This incident adds to growing security concerns in Kaduna State, where authorities have been working to address various criminal activities in recent months.
