Popular Nigerian actress and businesswoman, Aisha Lawal, has addressed rumors circulating about her wealth, particularly allegations involving a car gift from MC Oluomo, the leader of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW).

The controversy began when a NURTW leader identified as Baba Bistijabah claimed in a viral social media video that the union's national chairman had collected a Venza car from him and gifted it to the actress.

Lawal's Strong Denial

During an interview on the Talk to B show, Lawal categorically denied these accusations, stating, "I wonder if it was a setup or if the man smoked weed to claim that MC Oluomo collected Venza from him and gifted me. I have regard for MC Oluomo because he has done so much for people that I know. But I did not collect any car from him."

The actress further clarified that she has never driven a Venza, adding, "It's not a car I like. I drive a GX 460."

Revealing Her Wealth Source

Addressing questions about the source of her wealth, Lawal revealed that the COVID-19 pandemic period marked a significant turning point in her financial journey.

"COVID-19 period was my turning point. During COVID, I made N10 million in a week," she disclosed.

The actress expressed frustration at having her hard work questioned, stating, "Common, you have to add some respect to my name because I suffered before I make money."

While Lawal did not provide specific details about her business ventures during the pandemic, her statement highlights how some entertainment industry professionals were able to pivot and find opportunities even during challenging economic times.

This controversy comes amid ongoing leadership discussions within the NURTW, with recent reports addressing MC Oluomo's position within the organization.
