A 40-year-old man, Abubakar Tayi Mohammed, was brutally murdered by unknown assailants in the Rabba area of Mokwa, Niger State, authorities confirmed on Saturday.

The tragic incident occurred on Friday night along Abattoir-Agric School Road, where the victim was reportedly macheted to death by his attackers who also made away with his belongings.

Details of the Attack

According to the Niger State Police Command's Public Relations Officer, SP Wasiu Abiodun, the deceased was attacked on the night of June 6. "He was macheted to death, while his handset and Bajaj motorcycle were taken away," Abiodun stated.

Police operatives from Mokwa Division promptly responded to the scene, and the victim's body was transported to the General Hospital, Mokwa for further examination.

Ongoing Investigation

SP Abiodun confirmed that efforts are currently underway to apprehend those responsible for the killing. The police have launched a thorough investigation into the circumstances surrounding the murder.
