American rapper and YouTuber Darryl Dwayne Granberry Jr., popularly known as DDG, has revealed his intention to purchase a house in Lagos, Nigeria, as his child custody battle with ex-girlfriend Halle Bailey continues to unfold.
The rapper took to his X (formerly Twitter) handle on Friday to announce his property acquisition plans, asking his followers, "Finna buy a house in Lagos, Nigeria. What's a good area?"
This development comes after DDG previously expressed his desire to relocate to Lagos in March, citing dissatisfaction with life in the United States as his primary motivation for the move.
Legal Battle Clarification
Meanwhile, DDG's attorney has addressed recent reports regarding the rapper's legal situation with Bailey. Contrary to some media claims, the lawyer clarified that DDG was not denied a temporary restraining order against Bailey.
"The court granted DDG a Temporary Restraining Order (TRO) based on the serious allegations set forth in his application," the attorney stated. The lawyer further explained that "custody-related issues remain pending and are subject to a full evidentiary hearing, where both parties will have the opportunity to present their claims and defenses."
The former couple welcomed a son together less than a year ago before their relationship reportedly ended.
DDG's interest in Nigeria appears to be more than casual, as this latest announcement follows his March statement where he explicitly mentioned being "tired of living in America" and his plans to relocate to Nigeria.
