Anambra State Governor, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo, has vehemently denied allegations that he consulted a native doctor regarding his chances in the upcoming November 8 gubernatorial election.

In an official statement released on Wednesday by Christian Aburime, the Governor's Press Secretary, the Anambra government described the circulating claims as "totally false" and "maliciously fabricated" to tarnish the governor's image.

Video Misrepresentation Clarified

According to the statement, a video clip being shared online allegedly showing Governor Soludo consulting with a native doctor was actually taken during a legitimate meeting with Anambra-based content creators.

"During the session, one of the content creators performed a skit, a common comic genre in Nigerian entertainment, to showcase their creative abilities," Aburime explained in the statement.

The government expressed disappointment that political opponents would deliberately misrepresent the video to spread misinformation about the governor ahead of the November election.

Focus on Development Agenda

The statement highlighted Governor Soludo's commitment to developing Anambra's creative economy, citing projects like the recently commissioned Solution Fun City as evidence of this dedication.

"Governor Soludo's commitment to the development of Anambra State and his focus on delivering the Solution Agenda is top priority now," the press release emphasized.

The government urged the public to verify information before sharing or amplifying content, especially as the gubernatorial election approaches.

This incident comes as political activities intensify in Anambra State ahead of the November 8 gubernatorial election, where Governor Soludo is expected to seek reelection.
