The Police Service Commission (PSC) has announced that preparations have been completed for the recruitment of cadets and constables into the Nigeria Police Force for the year 2025.
According to a statement by Ikechukwu Ani, PSC Head of Press and Public Relations, the commission's chairman, DIG Hashimu Argungu (retd.), led a management delegation to the Nigeria Data Protection Commission in Abuja to establish partnership for the upcoming recruitment exercise.
During the visit, Argungu emphasized the importance of ensuring that only credible Nigerians are recruited into the force. "We are here to fortify the commission in its recruitment exercises. We need to know who we are recruiting, and we want to partner with you to make it a success," he stated.
The PSC chairman highlighted that data plays a crucial role in the modern world, adding that accurate and protected data would enable proper planning and background checks on all applicants seeking careers in the Nigeria Police Force.
Presidential Approval for Mass Recruitment
Argungu disclosed that the commission will soon commence the recruitment process for both cadets and the 30,000 constables annually approved by President Tinubu. This significant recruitment drive is expected to address manpower shortages within the force and enhance security operations nationwide.
The collaboration with the Nigeria Data Protection Commission represents a strategic approach to ensure the integrity of the recruitment process through comprehensive background checks and data verification of applicants.
While specific dates for the commencement of the recruitment exercise were not mentioned, the announcement indicates that the process will begin in the near future, offering employment opportunities to thousands of Nigerians interested in law enforcement careers.
