The Police Service Commission (PSC) has announced that preparations have been completed for the recruitment of cadets and constables into the Nigeria Police Force for 2025.
According to a statement by Ikechukwu Ani, PSC Head of Press and Public Relations, the commission's chairman, DIG Hashimu Argungu (retd.), led a management delegation to the Nigeria Data Protection Commission in Abuja to establish partnership for the upcoming recruitment exercise.
During the visit, Argungu emphasized the importance of ensuring that only credible Nigerians are recruited into the force. He highlighted that accurate and protected data is crucial for proper planning and background checks on all applicants seeking careers in the Nigeria Police Force.
"We are here to fortify the commission in its recruitment exercises. We need to know who we are recruiting, and we want to partner with you to make it a success," Argungu told his host at the Data Protection Commission.
Presidential Approval for Mass Recruitment
The PSC chairman disclosed that the commission will soon commence the recruitment process for both cadets and the 30,000 constables annually approved by the President.
This significant recruitment drive comes as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen Nigeria's security architecture and address manpower shortages within the police force.
The partnership with the Nigeria Data Protection Commission represents a strategic move to enhance the integrity of the recruitment process through improved data management and verification systems.
While specific dates for the commencement of the recruitment exercise have not been announced, interested applicants are advised to watch for official notifications from the Police Service Commission in the coming months.
