Popular Nigerian rapper and activist, Folarin Falana, professionally known as Falz, has revealed he might not raise his future children in Nigeria, citing the country's security challenges and threats related to his activism.

The "This Is Nigeria" crooner made this revelation during a recent appearance on the Dear Ife Series Podcast hosted by Ifedayo Agoro, where he was asked directly if he would raise his children in Nigeria.

"Ah! That's a deep question. I didn't expect to hear this question. I haven't really thought that far, let me not lie," Falz responded.

He continued, "But it's something that I can't actually say 'yes' to because of what we are talking about [the insecurity in the country, threats due to my activism, and Nigerians' docility]."

The rapper, who is currently single and has no children, expressed mixed feelings about the situation, noting that while he couldn't give a definitive answer, he remains hopeful about Nigeria's future.

"It's something I cannot outrightly say 'yes' to. And it's so sad. But I can't also outrightly say 'no' because I'm pro-Nigerian and I really believe that we can actually get it right. But I don't know, I don't know, but let's see," he added with a laugh.

Falz, who has been vocal about social and political issues in Nigeria, has used his platform and music to advocate for change, most notably with his 2018 hit song "This Is Nigeria," which highlighted various societal problems in the country.

The rapper's comments reflect growing concerns among young Nigerians about the country's security situation and economic challenges, which have led many professionals to consider relocating abroad for better opportunities and quality of life.
