Nasarawa State Governor Abdullahi Sule has approved the payment of N600 million as compensation to property owners affected by the planned construction of a flyover at the Total Roundabout in Keffi Local Government Area.

The Managing Director of the Nasarawa Urban Development Board (NUDB), Engineer Mohammed Wada Yahaya, confirmed the approval in a Facebook post on Sunday. According to Yahaya, who is a Keffi resident, the payment process for the affected individuals will commence this week.

The flyover project, valued at over N10 billion, was awarded a few months ago and forms part of the state government's broader infrastructure development agenda. The initiative aims to address traffic congestion in Keffi, a significant challenge for residents and commuters in the area.

The Total Roundabout is a major intersection in Keffi town that experiences heavy traffic, particularly during peak hours. The flyover is expected to significantly improve traffic flow and enhance the overall transportation infrastructure in the area.

This development represents a significant step in Governor Sule's commitment to infrastructure development across Nasarawa State. The compensation package demonstrates the government's recognition of the sacrifices made by property owners for the greater public benefit.

The N600 million compensation is expected to facilitate the smooth relocation of affected residents and businesses, minimizing disruption to their livelihoods while enabling the timely commencement of the flyover project.
