The All Progressives Congress (APC) leadership has urged South East residents to vote overwhelmingly for President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 presidential election, promising increased federal projects and economic advancement for the region.

APC National Chairman Abdullahi Ganduje, represented by South East zonal chairman Emma Enukwu, made this appeal during the inauguration of Renewed Hope Partners in Bende, Abia State on Sunday. The event was organized by Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Benjamin Kalu.

"You can see that all the governors of South South are collapsing into APC. Come let us join hands to make sure that 99 per cent of the votes cast in the South East are for Senator Ahmed Bola Tinubu," Ganduje stated.

According to the APC chairman, the South East stands to gain significantly more development projects and economic benefits if President Tinubu secures re-election in 2027.

Deputy Speaker Highlights Tinubu's Contributions to South East

While inaugurating members of the Renewed Hope Partners in Abia State, Deputy Speaker Benjamin Kalu emphasized that President Tinubu deserves South East votes based on his administration's ongoing projects in the region and the promise of more development initiatives.

Kalu noted that despite receiving minimal votes from the South East in the 2023 election, President Tinubu has worked to reintegrate the Igbo people into national affairs through strategic appointments, including naming an Igbo as Chief of Naval Staff, giving the region influence in waterways and the oil and gas sector.

"The President has re-integrated the Igbos into the schemes of things in Nigeria by giving them control of waterways and oil and gas sector through the appointment of an Igbo man as Chief of Naval Staff, among others, despite the poor votes he received in the zone in 2023," Kalu said.

The Deputy Speaker promised that more federal projects would be executed in the South East if the region delivers strong electoral support for President Tinubu in the upcoming 2027 presidential election.

The event marks an early push by the APC to strengthen its position in the South East, a region where the party has historically struggled to gain significant electoral support.
