Norway U-20 head coach Bjorn Johansen has expressed readiness to face Nigeria's Flying Eagles following the 2025 FIFA U-20 World Cup draw that placed both teams in Group F alongside Colombia and Saudi Arabia.

Johansen, speaking after the draw ceremony, acknowledged the physical attributes of the Nigerian side coached by Aliyu Zubairu, viewing the matchup as an opportunity to test his team against unfamiliar opposition.

"We had hoped to avoid certain teams, but now we have the opportunity to test ourselves against opponents we haven't faced often—especially Nigeria, who bring a lot of power and strength," Johansen stated.

The Flying Eagles, two-time finalists in the tournament's history, will be looking to make a significant impact in the competition scheduled to take place in Chile from September 27 to October 19, 2025.

Group F presents a challenging pathway for both teams, with Colombia and Saudi Arabia completing what appears to be a competitive group in the tournament.

Nigeria's Flying Eagles recently secured a bronze medal at the 2025 U-20 AFCON, which served as the qualifying tournament for the World Cup, suggesting they will enter the competition with momentum and tournament experience.

Coach Zubairu has previously emphasized the importance of early preparations for the World Cup, which will be crucial as they prepare to face the European challenge posed by Norway alongside their other group opponents.
