Nigeria's Flying Eagles have been drawn in Group F alongside Colombia, Saudi Arabia, and Norway for the 2025 FIFA U-20 World Cup scheduled to take place in Chile later this year.

The draw ceremony was conducted in Santiago, Chile in the early hours of Friday, with Nigeria's U-20 team placed in Pot 2 for the proceedings.

According to the tournament format, the top two teams from each group will advance to the Round of 16, setting a clear qualification target for the Nigerian squad.

The Flying Eagles, who have reached the final of the competition twice in their history, secured their qualification for the World Cup after finishing third at the Africa U-20 Cup of Nations held in Egypt earlier this month.

Nigeria will not be the only African representative at the tournament, as South Africa, Morocco, and host of the qualifying tournament, Egypt, have also secured their spots in the global youth championship.

The biennial competition is scheduled to run from September 27 to October 19, 2025, with Chile serving as the host nation.

This draw comes as the Flying Eagles look to improve on their previous World Cup performances, with team officials likely to begin preparations in earnest for the challenging group that includes traditional South American powerhouse Colombia.

The Nigerian team will be hoping to navigate through the group stage successfully as they aim to make a significant impact at the tournament.
