Former Inter Milan legend Wesley Sneijder has identified Real Madrid as the "perfect" club for Sporting Lisbon striker Viktor Gyokeres, who has become one of Europe's most sought-after forwards.

Gyokeres, 26, has enjoyed a remarkable season in Portugal, netting an impressive 51 goals in 53 appearances for Sporting Lisbon, attracting interest from several top European clubs.

The Swedish international has been linked with Premier League giants Arsenal and Chelsea, but Sneijder believes the striker should consider a move to the Spanish capital instead.

"You have to pick a team which works for your playing style," Sneijder told Metro via BetMGM. "At the moment, maybe Real [should consider signing him]. If it allows Kylian Mbappe to move back to the left then maybe it's a perfect match."

Sneijder's recommendation comes as Real Madrid prepares to welcome Kylian Mbappe, suggesting that Gyokeres' arrival could allow the French superstar to return to his preferred position on the left wing.

Reports indicate that Gyokeres has a release clause of approximately £58 million, a figure that could represent good value given his prolific goal-scoring record this season.

The striker's future remains uncertain, but his performances have established him as one of the most clinical finishers in European football, making him an attractive prospect for clubs looking to strengthen their attacking options this summer.
