Real Madrid youngster Endrick is set to wear Kylian Mbappe's No.9 shirt from next season, according to reports from Spanish publication AS.
The Spanish giants are planning to offer Mbappe the prestigious No.10 jersey previously worn by Luka Modric, who has announced his departure from the club this summer.
This jersey reshuffle comes as part of broader changes at Real Madrid, with Carlo Ancelotti leaving to become Brazil's national team coach and Xabi Alonso stepping in as the new manager.
The club believes the No.10 jersey would better complement Mbappe's image and marketability as a global brand. The French superstar is already familiar with wearing this number, having donned it for both Paris Saint-Germain and the French national team.
Reports suggest Mbappe had initially considered requesting the No.10 shirt during his contract negotiations with Real Madrid but decided against it out of respect for Modric.
The jersey change follows Mbappe's exceptional debut season with Los Blancos, during which he wore the No.9 shirt with distinction. The Frenchman claimed the Pichichi award as LaLiga's top scorer with 31 goals in 34 matches and also secured the European Golden Boot after netting 42 goals in 55 appearances across all competitions.
Brazilian striker Endrick, who has been touted as one of football's brightest young talents, will now have the responsibility of carrying the No.9 jersey, traditionally worn by some of Real Madrid's greatest goalscorers.
The number changes reflect Real Madrid's transition into a new era under Xabi Alonso's leadership, with Mbappe established as the team's talisman and Endrick representing the club's future ambitions.
