The Osun State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has launched a scathing attack on Governor Ademola Adeleke's administration, describing its developmental projects across the state as substandard and a waste of scarce resources.

In a statement released on Tuesday by Kola Olabisi, the Director of Media and Information, the party specifically highlighted the poor quality of road construction at the University of Ilesa (UNILESA) campus as evidence of what it termed "maladministration" by the current government.

"Verifiable and confirmed information depicted that there is no any other name for the quality of the road construction being effected on the campus of the new university but extremely poor," the statement read in part, adding that the substandard work is evident even to laymen.

The APC drew parallels between the UNILESA project and a recently completed road in Aduragbemi community of Ido-Osun in Egbedore Local Government Area, which reportedly washed away after a single rainfall, just a day after its completion.

According to the opposition party, these examples represent a pattern of poor project execution across the state under Governor Adeleke's leadership. The party alleged that PDP chieftains who serve as contractors are taking advantage of the governor's "lack of administrative know-how" to defraud the state while delivering substandard work.

"This is the poor resultant effect of a government whose ineffective chief executive combines the sensitive ministry of works with his cabinet which is crying for attention because of a deficit of required attributes to function effectively in both public and private offices," the statement continued.

The APC has called on the contractor handling the UNILESA road project to return to the site immediately and complete the work to globally acceptable standards commensurate with the payment received.

It is worth noting that UNILESA was established by the immediate-past Governor Adegboyega Oyetola, who now serves as the Minister of Marine and Blue Economy in the federal cabinet.

As of the time of this report, Governor Adeleke's administration has not responded to these allegations regarding the quality of road projects in the state.
