A 23-year-old tailor identified as Faith Adeola, popularly known as 'Chelsea,' has been arraigned before an Akure Magistrates' Court for allegedly killing his friend, Gbenga Olotu, during a violent altercation over a missing stabilizer.
The tragic incident occurred on May 10, 2025, in Ikese community, Oka-Akoko, located in Akoko South West Local Government Area of Ondo State, according to court documents.
Police Prosecutor, Inspector Folashade Adeyemi, informed the court that Adeola and the deceased, who referred to each other as "street brothers," engaged in a heated argument after Olotu accused Adeola of misplacing his stabilizer.
The situation reportedly escalated when Olotu, allegedly under the influence of hard drugs, brandished a knife and attempted to attack both Adeola and his wife. In the ensuing struggle, Adeola wrestled the weapon from Olotu and fatally stabbed him in the chest.
Authorities reported that the victim, also known as 'Zagazar,' was rushed to a nearby medical center but was pronounced dead upon arrival due to excessive blood loss.
The case was initially reported at the Oka-Akoko Police Division before being transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) in Akure, the state capital.

The defendant's plea was not taken during the arraignment. Inspector Adeyemi requested that the court remand Adeola to a correctional facility pending legal advice from the Director of Public Prosecution (DPP).
