Manchester United loanee Antony has aimed a subtle dig at the Premier League club while expressing his happiness at Real Betis, where he is currently on loan.

The Brazilian winger, who has struggled to make an impact at Old Trafford since his high-profile move, has found a new lease of life in Spain, scoring nine goals and providing five assists during his loan spell with the LaLiga side.

"Here at Betis I'm happy when I go to sleep and when I wake up... all day happy," Antony was quoted as saying after Real Betis played a 1-1 draw with Valencia in their final LaLiga match of the season on Friday.

The 25-year-old, who was on target in the match, added: "I don't know what's gonna happen with my future but I'm so happy here. These fans are incredible."

Antony's comments come after a difficult period at Manchester United where he failed to live up to expectations following his transfer from Ajax. His improved form at Real Betis has raised questions about his future, with speculation growing about whether he will return to Manchester or make his move to Spain permanent.

The winger's remarks about being "happy all day" at Real Betis have been interpreted by many as a thinly veiled criticism of his time at Manchester United, where he struggled for form and confidence.

It remains to be seen whether Antony will return to Manchester United for the upcoming season or if Real Betis will pursue a permanent deal for the Brazilian international who has clearly found his form in LaLiga.
