The suspended Deputy Governor of Rivers State, Professor Ngozi Nma Ordu, has categorically denied rumors circulating about her resignation from office.

In a statement issued through the Head of her Press Unit, Owepele Benibo, Professor Ordu described the resignation rumors as "false information from the pit of hell."

Speaking during a telephone interview, Benibo emphasized that the Deputy Governor has no intention of stepping down, particularly at this critical time when reconciliation efforts are ongoing to restore peace in Rivers State.

"The public should disregard this fake news. Professor Nma-Ordu remains fully committed to the administration of Governor Siminalayi Fubara," Benibo stated.

This marks the second time such resignation rumors have surfaced. Previously, on March 5, 2025, similar claims were circulated by Facebook users from Rivers State, which were promptly debunked by her media team.

The denial comes amid ongoing political tensions in Rivers State, where reconciliation efforts are reportedly underway to address the political crisis that led to the Deputy Governor's suspension.

Professor Ordu's media team has urged the public to rely only on official communications from her office regarding her position and activities.
