American rapper Kanye West has declared that he is "done with antisemitism" in a recent series of posts on his X (formerly Twitter) handle, marking a significant shift from his controversial stance that has damaged his career and public image since 2022.
The hip-hop artist, who sparked widespread condemnation in 2022 with antisemitic comments that led to the termination of lucrative partnerships with Adidas and other major brands, attributed his change of heart to a simple interaction with his children.
"I simply got a FaceTime from my kids and I wanna save the world again," West wrote on his social media platform. The rapper continued with a series of statements expressing forgiveness and remorse: "I forgive those who have caused me pain. God forgive me for the pain I've caused. I love all people. I am done with antisemitism."
This announcement comes just months after West, also known as Ye, posted antisemitic tropes on his social media accounts in February 2025. During that period, he also shared antisemitic conspiracy theories and made statements praising Adolf Hitler, further damaging his reputation and alienating fans.
West's antisemitic comments in 2022 led to severe professional consequences, with Adidas ending their partnership that had been valued at billions of dollars. Other brands and business associates also distanced themselves from the artist, resulting in significant financial and reputational damage.
The rapper's public renunciation of antisemitism represents a major reversal in his public statements. However, it remains to be seen whether this change of heart will repair the damage done to his career and public image, or whether brands and former business partners will be willing to work with him again.
West, who shares four children with ex-wife Kim Kardashian, has previously spoken about the importance of his role as a father, though his controversial statements have often overshadowed these aspects of his personal life.
Public reaction to West's announcement has been mixed, with some expressing skepticism about the sincerity of his statement given his history of controversial remarks followed by apologies.
