Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes has ruled out any immediate plans to leave the club following their 1-0 defeat to Tottenham Hotspur in the UEFA Europa League final on Wednesday night.

The Red Devils suffered disappointment in Bilbao as Brennan Johnson's first-half goal secured the trophy for Tottenham, leaving United trophyless this season.

Speaking to the media after the match, the 30-year-old Portuguese midfielder addressed speculation about his future at Old Trafford, particularly amid reported interest from Saudi Pro League club Al-Hilal.

"I will be here until the club tells me it is time to leave," Fernandes stated firmly. "If the club thinks it's time to leave, because they want to make some money, that is what it's and football is like that sometimes."

The midfielder's comments come at a crucial time for Manchester United, who face a potential summer rebuild under manager Ruben Amorim following their disappointing performance in the final.

Fernandes, who joined United in January 2020, has been a pivotal figure at the club, contributing significantly with goals and assists despite the team's inconsistent performances in recent seasons.

The Europa League final defeat marks another setback for Manchester United, who will now focus on strengthening their squad during the upcoming transfer window to improve their competitiveness both domestically and in European competitions next season.
