Real Madrid right-back Dani Carvajal has welcomed the impending arrival of Liverpool star Trent Alexander-Arnold, insisting their competition will yield positive results for both players and the club.

Alexander-Arnold, whose contract with Liverpool expires on June 30, is reportedly set to join the Spanish giants on a free transfer after agreeing terms with Los Blancos.

Speaking about the England international's arrival, Carvajal dismissed any concerns about his position being threatened, instead focusing on the benefits of healthy competition within the squad.

"Competition with Trent? Yes, that is clear. It's not official yet, but it looks like it," Carvajal said via Madrid Zone. "Fear? No, there is no fear here. We will be teammates."

The Spanish defender added: "The competition will strengthen both of us and will bring out our best."

Alexander-Arnold, known for his exceptional passing range and set-piece abilities, is expected to be part of Real Madrid's squad for this year's FIFA Club World Cup, further bolstering the European champions' options in defense.

The 25-year-old Liverpool academy graduate will end his long association with his boyhood club after making over 300 appearances since his debut in 2016, during which he has won every major trophy including the Premier League and Champions League.

Carvajal, who has been Real Madrid's first-choice right-back for over a decade, has won multiple Champions League titles and domestic honors with the club. His positive attitude toward Alexander-Arnold's arrival demonstrates the winning mentality that has made Madrid one of the most successful clubs in world football.
