Former Besiktas manager Sergen Yalcin has named Nigerian international Victor Osimhen as the Turkish Super Lig Player of the Season following his exceptional performance during his loan spell at Galatasaray.
Osimhen, who joined Galatasaray on loan from Italian side Napoli, has been a pivotal figure in the Turkish club's dominant campaign this season, helping them secure both the league title and domestic cup.
The 26-year-old striker has registered impressive statistics, scoring 36 goals and providing eight assists in 40 appearances across all competitions for Galatasaray.
Speaking about Osimhen's impact, Yalcin was quoted by habersarikirmizi as saying: "I think the player of the season is Osimhen. It is very difficult to choose players from other teams anyway."
The former Besiktas coach further emphasized Galatasaray's dominance this season, adding: "If we were to form an 11, you would get at least 6-7 players from Galatasaray. You wouldn't just get a right back and a left back."
Osimhen's stellar performance in Turkey comes amid speculation about his future, with the Nigerian striker currently only on loan at Galatasaray. His goal-scoring prowess has attracted attention from several European clubs, including Premier League sides.
The Super Eagles star has continued to enhance his reputation as one of Africa's finest strikers, demonstrating his clinical finishing ability and overall contribution to team success during his time in the Turkish Super Lig.
