Nigerian international Cyriel Dessers has officially won the Scottish Premiership Golden Boot for the 2024/25 season after finishing the campaign with 18 goals in 35 league appearances.

The 30-year-old Rangers forward sealed his top scorer status by netting once in Rangers' 2-2 draw with Hibernian at Easter Road on Saturday. This goal proved crucial in securing his position ahead of closest challengers Simon Murray of Dundee United and Celtic's Daizen Maeda, who both finished with 16 goals each.

Dessers' achievement marks a significant milestone as he becomes the first Rangers player to win the prestigious award since Colombian striker Alfredo Morelos. The Nigerian forward has enjoyed an impressive season with the Glasgow giants, consistently finding the back of the net throughout the campaign.

The Golden Boot award changes hands after Hearts striker Lawrence Shankland claimed the honor last season. Dessers' consistent goal-scoring form has been a bright spot for Rangers, with the striker also recently celebrating his 50th goal for the club.
