Popular Nigerian skit maker and content creator, Chinonso Ukah, better known as Nons Miraj, has opened up about her decision to discontinue her once-signature 'witch' skits that helped propel her to fame.
During a recent interview with content creator Egungun of Lagos, Nons Miraj revealed that her decision was influenced by two key factors: insufficient financial returns and concerns about how the character affected public perception of her age.
"I stopped creating witch content because it wasn't giving me enough money, and people were thinking I was old," she explained during the conversation.
The revelation provides insight into the strategic decisions content creators must make regarding their personal brand and image in Nigeria's competitive entertainment industry. The 'witch' character, characterized by distinctive makeup and costume, had become one of her recognizable personas but apparently came with unintended consequences for her public image.
Nons Miraj has since diversified her content, exploring different characters and formats that have continued to expand her audience while maintaining her relevance in Nigeria's thriving social media entertainment scene.
The content creator, who has collaborated with numerous Nigerian celebrities and fellow skit makers, continues to build her brand through various digital platforms, demonstrating the evolving nature of content creation in Nigeria's entertainment landscape.
