The Minister of Works, David Umahi, has drawn a biblical comparison between President Bola Tinubu and Joseph the dreamer, commending the President's courage and vision in pursuing ambitious infrastructure projects across Nigeria.
Speaking during his ministry's performance presentation at the Ministerial Press Briefing in Abuja on Friday, Umahi expressed confidence that divine assistance has enabled President Tinubu to transform his visions into reality.
"Mr President is a man of courage. I call him the Joseph the dreamer, and God has helped him to make flesh all his dreams. I commend him very highly," Umahi stated.
The Minister revealed that his inspiration for the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Road project came from the Eko Atlantic development, a significant achievement during Tinubu's tenure as Lagos State Governor from 1999 to 2007.
Revival of Historic Infrastructure Plans
Umahi highlighted the Sokoto-Badagry road project as another example of the President's visionary leadership, noting that the initiative was first conceived by former President Shehu Shagari approximately 47 years ago but never implemented.
"The good news is the Sokoto-Badagry project. It was a dream of the Shagari administration about 47 years ago. Originally planned as Badagry to Sokoto, our detribalised President instructed us to reverse it to Sokoto-Badagry," he explained.
According to the former Ebonyi State Governor, undertaking such ambitious infrastructure projects demonstrates exceptional courage and foresight.
Economic Improvements Under Tinubu
Beyond infrastructure developments, Umahi also praised the President's overall economic management since taking office in May 2023.
"Our GDP is on the rise, inflation is declining, and our foreign exchange situation is improving," the Minister noted. "The World Bank has confirmed that we no longer owe them. Let's applaud Mr. President—a man of exceptional courage."
The Ministerial Press Briefing provided a platform for Umahi to showcase his ministry's achievements and ongoing projects under President Tinubu's administration, reinforcing the government's commitment to infrastructure development across Nigeria.
