Senate Minority Leader and Benue South Senatorial District representative, Senator Abba Moro, has publicly endorsed the appointment of former Benue State Governor, Dr. Samuel Ortom, and former Minister of Information, Labaran Maku, to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Board of Trustees (BoT).

In a statement released on Tuesday, Senator Moro described the appointments as "well-deserved," expressing strong confidence in the appointees' abilities to contribute meaningfully to the party's growth and repositioning efforts.

The senator particularly highlighted Ortom's inclusion on the board, noting his "wealth of experience and firm commitment to the ideals of the PDP." According to Moro, Ortom and the other new BoT members will bring "value, wisdom, and renewed strength" to the party's leadership structure.

"I believe in the ability and capacity of Dr. Ortom and the other appointees to deploy their vast experience to better the fortunes of the PDP," Moro stated.

Other notable appointees to the PDP BoT include former Niger State Governor, Dr. Babangida Aliyu. Senator Moro pledged his unwavering support for the PDP and its Board of Trustees, assuring that he remains committed to efforts aimed at restoring the party's relevance and electoral success.

"Everything possible will be done to return the party to its winning ways in the nearest future," the senator added, signaling a renewed push for the party's revival ahead of future electoral contests.

The appointments come at a critical time for the PDP as it seeks to strengthen its leadership structure and reposition itself as a formidable opposition party in Nigeria's political landscape.
