Former National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Adams Oshiomhole, has launched a scathing attack on Labour Party's 2023 presidential candidate, Peter Obi, questioning his moral authority to criticize political defections.

In his remarks, Oshiomhole claimed that Obi's primary achievement during his eight-year tenure as Anambra State Governor was merely "wearing Ojukwu's symbol," referring to the late Biafran leader, Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu.

"My very dear friend Peter Obi, who governed Anambra for eight years, when he was there, he was only wearing Ojukwu's symbol," Oshiomhole stated.

The former APC chairman further highlighted Obi's political journey across different parties, saying, "When he left, he joined PDP. When he lost in PDP, he went back to Labour. And now I don't know what he did in Labour, and I hear about Obidient Movement. Now I don't know whether that is a political party."

Oshiomhole suggested that Obi and others who criticize political defections should examine their own histories. He contrasted this with the loyalty of certain politicians, claiming, "It is President Bola Tinubu and a few of us who can say we have never decamped."

The comments come amid ongoing discussions about party loyalty and political defections in Nigeria's political landscape, particularly as the country moves further from the 2023 general elections where Obi emerged as a significant third-force candidate.

Peter Obi, who served as Anambra Governor under the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) platform before joining the People's Democratic Party (PDP) and later the Labour Party, has yet to respond to Oshiomhole's comments.
