Spanish-Nigerian forward Victor Musa capped off an impressive season by scoring in Manchester United Under-18's 3-1 victory over Sunderland in their final match of the 2024-2025 campaign.
The weekend fixture at Carrington saw Sunderland take an early lead through Felix Scott, who found the net just two minutes into the match. However, the Red Devils responded strongly, with Amir Ibragimov equalizing with a header ten minutes before half-time.
Manchester United then took control of the game when Albert Mills put them ahead with another header shortly after Ibragimov's goal. The victory was sealed in second-half stoppage time when Musa slotted the ball into the bottom corner to make it 3-1.
The goal marked a fitting end to a stellar season for Musa, who has accumulated 19 goals across all competitions for United's youth team. His goal-scoring prowess was particularly evident in April when he netted an extraordinary six goals in a 13-1 demolition of Leeds United.
Despite their strong performance throughout the season, Manchester United's Under-18 side finished as runners-up in the U18 Premier League North with 63 points, just two points behind champions Manchester City.
Musa is not expected to feature again until next season unless he receives a surprise call-up to the first team for one of the final three games of the senior campaign. His consistent performances at youth level have certainly put him in contention for future first-team opportunities.
The young talent's development will be closely watched by Nigerian football fans, as he represents another promising prospect with Nigerian heritage making strides at one of Europe's biggest clubs.
