Egypt U-20 head coach Osama Nabih has declared his team's determination to end their 2025 Africa U-20 Cup of Nations campaign on a positive note by defeating Nigeria's Flying Eagles in the third-place playoff.

The Young Pharaohs suffered a narrow 1-0 defeat to North African rivals Morocco in Thursday's semi-final clash at the Air Defense Stadium in Cairo, dashing their hopes of clinching the title on home soil.

Following the disappointing result, Egypt will now face Nigeria's Flying Eagles in the battle for bronze on Sunday, with Nabih emphasizing his team's commitment to giving their supporters something to celebrate.

"We'll do everything to give the fans something to celebrate," Nabih told CAFonline. "The journey may not have ended the way we hoped, but we have shown resilience, and I trust the boys to finish on a high."

The Flying Eagles, who also fell short in their semi-final encounter against South Africa, will be looking to salvage pride by securing third position in the continental youth championship.

Meanwhile, South Africa and Morocco will contest the final of the tournament, with both teams already having secured qualification for the FIFA U-20 World Cup alongside Nigeria and Egypt.

Sunday's third-place playoff promises to be a thrilling encounter as both Nigeria and Egypt aim to conclude their tournament campaign with a podium finish.
