Sean "Diddy" Combs could face life imprisonment if convicted in his ongoing sex trafficking trial, where prosecutors have made shocking allegations about the rapper's conduct during his relationship with ex-girlfriend Cassie Ventura.

Opening statements began on May 12 after jury selection concluded, with Assistant U.S. Attorney Emily Johnson detailing disturbing claims about Combs' alleged behavior during what were called "freak offs" – elaborate sexual events reportedly involving male escorts and women who were allegedly coerced into participation.

Prosecutors alleged that during one such event, Combs forced a male escort to urinate in Ventura's mouth, after which she reportedly "felt like she was choking." The prosecution also referenced a 2016 video that surfaced online allegedly showing Combs physically assaulting Ventura in a hotel hallway.

Male escort Daniel Phillip testified that he was repeatedly hired and paid up to $6,000 per encounter to have sex with Cassie, claiming that Combs would sometimes direct or record these encounters. Phillip also testified that Ventura had requested certain acts, stating, "Cassie was actually the one that asked me to urinate on her."

"I felt like I was dealing with someone who had unlimited power. Even if I went to the police, I believed I could still lose my life," Phillip added during his testimony.

Combs has pleaded not guilty to all charges, which include one count of racketeering conspiracy, two counts of sex trafficking, and two counts of transporting individuals for prostitution. His legal team reportedly plans to argue that Cassie was an active participant in mutual violence during their relationship. Ventura is expected to testify during the trial.

The Bad Boy Records founder was arrested in Manhattan on September 16, 2024, and later indicted by federal prosecutors in the Southern District of New York. Beyond the current charges, he has been accused of sexually abusing 120 individuals, including women, men, and allegedly a 9-year-old boy.

If convicted of the racketeering charge, Diddy could face life in prison. A separate conviction for sex trafficking carries a mandatory minimum sentence of 15 years.
