Bournemouth defender Dean Huijsen is undergoing medical examinations in London ahead of his proposed £50 million transfer to Real Madrid, according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano.
The Spanish giants have reportedly agreed to trigger Huijsen's release clause as they look to strengthen their squad ahead of next month's FIFA Club World Cup.
Romano revealed on Friday via his X (formerly Twitter) handle that the medical tests have been approved by Bournemouth, with contract signing expected to take place soon.
"Understand Dean Huijsen's now in London undergoing main part of medical tests as new Real Madrid player," Romano wrote. "All approved by Bournemouth including medical, contract signing to take place soon and Dean's presence at Club World Cup."
The transfer specialist had earlier confirmed that Huijsen's participation in the upcoming FIFA Club World Cup with Real Madrid was "never in doubt" and had been agreed upon during initial contact between the clubs.
"He will be at the Club World Cup and his contract being sealed in these hours will be valid for FIVE years, 2030," Romano added.
This high-profile move represents one of the significant transfers in the current window, with Real Madrid continuing their policy of acquiring promising young talent to bolster their squad depth as they prepare for multiple competitions.
The £50 million fee makes this one of Bournemouth's most lucrative player sales in recent history, while Real Madrid secures a defender they clearly view as a long-term investment with the five-year contract through 2030.
