Chelsea midfielder Cole Palmer has disclosed the conversation he had with Brazilian wonderkid Willian Estevão following Chelsea's 2-1 victory over Palmeiras in the FIFA Club World Cup quarter-final on Saturday.

Despite scoring Palmeiras' only goal in the match, 18-year-old Estevão couldn't prevent his side from exiting the tournament as Chelsea advanced to the semi-finals.

Estevão, who signed for Chelsea last year but remained with Palmeiras, is set to join the Premier League club this summer after the conclusion of the Club World Cup.

Speaking after the match, Palmer revealed: "Estêvão is a top player, we all can see that. I told him that we are excited for him to join, but he did not understand a single word I said."

The victory sets up a semi-final clash for Enzo Maresca's side against Fluminense, as Chelsea continue their pursuit of the prestigious Club World Cup trophy.

Chelsea had previously strengthened their squad ahead of the semi-final with the addition of Gittens, while manager Maresca provided updates on the availability of midfielders Caicedo and Lavia.

The tournament features several strong contenders, with Real Madrid players reportedly set to receive €1 million each should they emerge victorious.
