The family of Osemudiamen Idemudia, a 26-year-old banker, has raised an alarm over his mysterious disappearance while returning home from work in Lagos last Friday.
According to Mr. Julius Idemudia, the father of the missing banker, Osemudiamen was last seen on Friday, May 9, 2025, after leaving his workplace. Osemudiamen works in the Point-of-Sale (POS) department of a commercial bank in Lagos.
The father explained that his son had traveled from the bank's Ikota branch with a colleague to attend a scheduled meeting with a senior official at the bank's headquarters in CMS, Lagos Island. Upon arrival, they discovered the meeting had been cancelled.
"After they got to CMS and parted ways, Osemudiamen was supposed to take a bus to Iyana Ipaja and then proceed to Igando, where he lives. But he never arrived home. When it got late and we hadn't heard from him, we began to worry. After 24 hours, we raised the alarm," Mr. Idemudia stated.
The family has formally reported the incident to the Igando Police Station, located near the Akesan area where Osemudiamen resides. Additionally, arrangements are being made to engage with the bank's Chief Security Officer to support the ongoing investigation into the young man's whereabouts.
"This is completely out of character for him. We are extremely worried and just want to know that he is safe. Our hearts are heavy," the distressed father added.
The disappearance of Osemudiamen comes amid growing concerns about security in Lagos, Nigeria's commercial capital. Authorities have yet to provide any updates on the investigation as the search for the young banker continues.
Anyone with information regarding Osemudiamen Idemudia's whereabouts is encouraged to contact the Igando Police Station or his family.
