Governor Ahmadu Fintiri of Adamawa State has signed into law a bill that establishes and regulates the new official Seal of Adamawa State, granting it full legal status.

The legislation, formally presented as 'A Bill For A Law To Create The Seal Of Adamawa And Regulate Its Use 2025,' provides comprehensive guidelines for the creation, protection, and regulation of the state seal, which will now serve as the official emblem representing government authority and state identity.

During the signing ceremony, Governor Fintiri described the occasion as historic, emphasizing that the seal represents more than just an official symbol.

"This is not just a seal, but a statement of identity, dignity, and responsibility for all who serve under it," Fintiri stated.

Symbolic Elements of the New Seal

The newly established seal incorporates multiple elements that reflect Adamawa's rich history, cultural heritage, and economic potential through carefully selected symbols:

  • Kakaki: Representing power, authority, and royalty

  • Spear: Symbolizing the state's warrior heritage and historical victories

  • Horse: Signifying royalty, courage, and tradition

  • 21 Stars: Representing the 21 local government areas that make up Adamawa State

  • Lion: Symbolizing strength, leadership, and the state's chiefdoms

  • Book and Academic Hat: Representing knowledge and educational pursuits

  • Cattle and Crops: Highlighting agriculture and food security

  • Fisherman: Acknowledging the contributions of riverine communities

The governor expressed his enthusiasm about the new seal, stating: "This seal tells our story as a people—our courage, our intellect, our resources, and our unity. It belongs to every citizen of Adamawa and must therefore be treated with the reverence it deserves."

With this new law, the seal becomes a protected symbol of state authority, with regulations governing its official use across government communications, documents, and state functions.
