Nigerian actress Iyabo Ojo has formally petitioned the National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu, alleging serious misconduct by officers of the Nigeria Police Force National Cybercrime Centre (NPF-NCC) during her recent interrogation in Abuja.
The petition, filed through her legal representatives, The Maverick Forte Legal, on July 29, 2025, details concerning breaches of professional conduct that allegedly occurred at the Force Headquarters in Abuja.
According to the widely circulated document, Ojo claims that social media personality VeryDarkMan, who is a civilian and a defendant in another case where she is a witness, was inappropriately granted access to her interrogation room during questioning.
The actress specifically accused Commissioner of Police, CP Ifeanyi Henry Uche, of facilitating VeryDarkMan's access to the confidential police proceedings, suggesting an "improper relationship" between the officer and the social media influencer.
In her petition, Ojo further alleged that details of her private session with the police were subsequently leaked online by VeryDarkMan, compromising the integrity of the investigation process.
As a result of these alleged breaches, the actress has declared her intention to cease attending sessions at the Abuja office. She has formally requested that her case be transferred to Lagos, called for an independent investigation into the matter, and demanded an end to what she described as a "tainted and partial inquiry."
BenriNews understands that Ojo was initially invited by the police for publicly calling out musician Naira Marley over his alleged involvement in singer Mohbad's death, which has been a highly publicized case in Nigeria's entertainment industry.
This development marks another chapter in the ongoing tensions between Ojo and VeryDarkMan, which have played out extensively on social media platforms over recent months.
The National Security Adviser's office has yet to issue an official response to the petition at the time of this report.
