The chairman of the Senate Committee on Media and Public Affairs, Senator Yemi Adaramodu, has accused suspended Kogi Central Senator, Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, of engaging in "skit making and content creation" following her attempt to forcefully resume plenary on Tuesday.

Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan, who was suspended for six months after accusing Senate President Godswill Akpabio of sexual harassment, attempted to return to the National Assembly, claiming her action was in compliance with a judgment from an Abuja Federal High Court.

Security personnel prevented the embattled lawmaker from entering the National Assembly complex. Despite this setback, she has vowed to appeal the decision and seek further clarification on the court's ruling.

"Content Creation" Allegations

Speaking on Channels Television's Politics Today, Senator Adaramodu dismissed Natasha's actions as theatrical rather than legislative.

"The National Assembly at large has a lot of roles to play. We are legislators and lawmakers, not spectators to be watching skit making and content creation," Adaramodu stated.

He further emphasized: "Initially I said all these episodes and saga is all about content creation, now that the content has been created, it's now degenerating into a season film. We are not interested, we are lawmakers not actors, we are not interested in all these kinds of things."

Legal Process Questioned

The Senate spokesperson also questioned Natasha's approach to enforcing the court judgment, explaining that litigants cannot personally enforce court orders.

"Even when any litigant goes to court and gets judgement, either the person feels that this is an order when that is not an order, the litigant does not enforce the order by himself or herself," he explained.

"There are court bailiffs who will serve orders on those that should be served as prescribed by the court. I know that Nigerians know that this is another skit making and a continuation of the content making episode by our own colleague."

The suspended senator had previously described her suspension as "fraudulent" and has maintained that she has the right to resume her legislative duties based on the court's judgment.

Security was reportedly heightened at the National Assembly in anticipation of Natasha's planned return, highlighting the tension surrounding the ongoing dispute.
