President Bola Tinubu has reassured Nigerians that the country is in safe hands, pledging his administration's unwavering commitment to restoring peace, law, and order across the nation, with particular focus on communities affected by insecurity.
The President made this declaration on Tuesday through National Security Adviser (NSA), Mallam Nuhu Ribadu, during the commissioning of new housing units in Kaduna State, a project developed in partnership with the Qatar Charity Organisation.
"Nigeria is in safe hands, and we will restore law and order. That is an assurance we are giving. It will be done," President Tinubu declared through his representative.
The housing initiative aims to rebuild and rehabilitate communities that have been severely impacted by banditry and violent attacks, representing a concrete step in the administration's security strategy that combines both kinetic and non-kinetic approaches.
Tinubu highlighted the significant progress already made in restoring peace in Kaduna State, describing the current atmosphere as one of renewed hope and increasing stability. "Recovery is ongoing, and it is clear that fresh air is blowing through Kaduna State. Things are changing," he noted.
The President emphasized that his governance approach prioritizes the needs of citizens, especially those who have been displaced or harmed by violence and insecurity. "We are wiping the tears of victims of extreme violence. We are reconciling communities and creating a sense of inclusion for all," he said.
In his address, Tinubu commended the collaborative efforts of the Kaduna State Government, the NSA's office, and the Chief of Defence Staff for their effective implementation of both military and diplomatic strategies to combat insecurity.
He particularly praised the 'Kaduna Peace Model' as a homegrown, community-based, and intelligence-led approach that offers sustainable solutions to the security challenges facing the region. The reopening of Birnin Gwari Market and the return of displaced farmers to their lands were highlighted as tangible signs of progress.
"This is a public declaration that Kaduna State is having a new face — a face of reality and rebuilding," the President added.
Speaking directly to victims of violence, Tinubu offered words of comfort and solidarity: "We heard you. You are victims of extreme violence, but we are with you. Your pain is recognised."
The President expressed gratitude to Qatar Charity for its support in the housing project and reaffirmed his government's resolve to deliver sustainable, life-changing interventions for affected communities.
"This fight against terrorism is a challenge, but addressing it is a top priority under our national security agenda," he concluded, reinforcing his administration's dedication to creating a safer Nigeria for all citizens.
